This has to be the quickest I have ever managed to complete a challenge, I had the idea in advance and after a few different angles I settled with this capture. I used a ring flash to try to get an even spread of light and avoid shadows under the watch hands and used a tripod to help me get the framing right
This is just a small part of what was once one of my lenses, it met an untimely end when I dropped my camera thinking the strap was round my wrist, a costly mistake, but at least the camera survived. I struggled not to get shadows even using a ring flash, but managed to eliminate most of them.
Where my hobby is photography, my wife's is gardening, the result is I always have something nice to look at right outside my door. This time of year we start seeing some of the most beautiful colours our seasons can offer where we still have new life but also see some of the plants dying off for the winter months. In this image there is still new growth alongside a small tree that is in it's last days, the colouring in the leaves are so beautiful, a defiant shout before it sleeps for the cold months that will surely follow.
