“ It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ”
I went for a walk around Canterbury about an hour before sun rise and saw a lot of people setting up market stalls and busying themselves ready for the days shoppers coming to spend money in the run up to Christmas, there are lights in all the shop windows, and Christmas has taken over much of the City, but it also still has a sad almost hidden secret. We have a lot of rough sleepers in Canterbury who can be found in many shop entrances, many of them come to Canterbury because it is a relatively safe City and having a large student population, there is always a friendly face and some help. We do have shelters, but these two people have dogs with them, so are not allowed in. They can get fed, but cannot stay overnight.
“ Three little drips ”
I chose water on feathers as feathers are such a natural repellent of water, the feather was one our cockatiel had dropped a while ago, I used a mix of water and glycerine to help with the structure of the drops and took 24 images focus stacked, my lighting was a standard lamp off to the right.
“ Chimneys ”
This is a bit of a consistency image this week, an unexpected family commitment took me away from home for my days off work and I really didn't have too much time to dedicate to this challenge.
I was lucky enough to get an interesting sky just before dusk this evening and thought that would suit the theme this week. I included the chimneys to give the image a base. I would have likes a row of three, but we can't always get what we want.
