I really was hoping to get an image of the moon a few days earlier so I would have more shadows on the craters, but the weather wasn't in my favour, this moon is just 1night after a full moon, but already there as a small amount of shadow on the craters on the top right of the moons surface. I chose this image mainly because of the cloud giving some extra interest. My one light of course was the sun.
I started with blazer badge that is made of metal stitching and thought that the detail in the stitching was very intricate, but as I got closer to the badge, even I was surprised with just how complex the make up of the badge was. This image uses a sigma 105 macro with an extension bellows contraption I found in a second hand shop, this increased the magnification quite a lot. There is no cropping of this image. For lighting, I used a ring flash mounted on the end of the lens.
This man is Wullie Stewart, who drives this rather fast Mk2 Ford Escort in the BTRDA Clubmans rallycross, this is his first season owning the car and is still getting a feel for it's power. The car itself was involved in a spectacular crash two seasons ago at this circuit (see link) but Wullie tells me he intends to keep his wheels firmly on the ground. I met him for the first time at this event where I act as the photographer for Ian Biagi, another driver at the event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj8C9vNTXD0
